The Packers don't have to wait any longer. Brett Favre told the team on Tuesday that he will play the 2006 season in Green Bay, team and league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The decision comes 10 days after the team delayed Favre's roster bonus a fourth time to give the QB more time to decide his future.

Hm so many things I could say here...but I guess maybe this would be the best. Favre has earned the right to say when he wants to go or stay, we have same situation here in Detroit with Yzerman in hockey. Favre is one of the better all time QB's and will be good to see him beating up on the Lions atleast two more times this coming season!!! Rogers will get one more year of training.

he will stay at least two more years and break all the QB records, although he needs to have to pretty good years. Think he is about 7700 yrds behind DAN Marino. Should be able to get wins--although Peyton Manning should get that one down the line and TDS

dherm---I totally agree.
He is pulling an Emmett Smith here...play for the records---even though you know you are on the down side of your career and you are not going to win a superbowl...

I don't really want to get on my Favre soapbox...BUT...

@ b_ballerjake...Favre could still play for half of the teams in the league and be an upgrade. He still has the skills and attitude to win. Give him a decent "O" Line and another quality receiver with Driver and he'll excel again. Maybe Elway should have quit before winning the two superbowls he won when his skills were diminished.
