Hey guys I just wanted to ask you guys something. I have a trade with a US Trader,on another site, and I sent out my package January 7th 2012. Now the guy I sent to is getting impatient, which I understand, and I have reassured him that I have had packages take longer from Canada to the US in the past.

What the longest you ever waited for a package from Canada to US?

Any help with this would be great!

Was it card-for-card or cards-for-cash? I'm looking at your trades on that other site, wondering if it's this one involving Crosby/Ovie stuff you sold.

It is not unheard of to take 6-8 weeks if you get unlucky. I think we have all been in your shoes before. Good luck, I hope the transaction concludes well for you.

thanks sean, I have never had this problem before and have 100+ feedback, with no negatives, so just wondering here for some advice

i waited almost 7 months for a card from Shippagan, NB to make it to VA. Thats the longest i have ever heard, guess the envelope fell in a crack

i live in the southern US and i received a package of cards in the mail today that was mailed on Jan.6 from Winnipeg, MB... 2-3 weeks seems to be the norm form my experiences.

Normally it is US to Canada that takes a long period of time. Canada to US being slow is actually rarer but it does happen. The longest was 2-3 weeks for me.

Canada has a slower processing system so US to Canada is slower. When it enters Canada it takes them forever to clear customs, processed, and sent out. However, the only good thing about Canada is every province has a large enough city and is centralized enough for their own international sorting facility. US is different, they have specific ones. I know of packages traveling across US states just to be processed and sent out internationally. Fortunately, they do it a lot quicker than CP.

One thing I noticed is that it truly matters what city you send your item in. Here in Vancouver, the best place to send stuff internationally is actually in Richmond. We ship all Air here due to geographic reasons and Richmond is actually where the airport is located. It saves me about 1-2 days in delivery time. It gets processed and shipped the same day I mail cause they take all the US mail send it to the airport and they are off. Vancouver mail has be processed in Vancouver, then goes to Richmond, sort again and then go out.
