Here we ask how a card of a certain set looks like

Ice Champions (Level 1, Silver Foil)

Ice Champions (Level 2, Gold Foil)

Thanks...Very subtle if you weren't aware of the differences.

whats the difference between

1994-95 PINNACLE RINK WORLD JUNIORS REDEMPTION CARD

anyone got any info on this?

Great thread! Hope there can be more added as this has already helped me.

anyone????

There isn't one. Only the rookies had separate retail and hobby versions, differentiated by the serial numbering and a green finish on the retail version.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I guess Beckett as usual is out to lunch on this one as they have listed that veteran players have hobby and retail base cards.

You mean the actual redemption card vs. the parallel with Cloutier on it? There were redemption cards like this, but can't remember if they were alike in series 1 and 2:

For some reason I vaguely remember the Canada Junior redemption cards to be more like the actual card you were going to get, but without revealing, which player you get with the redemption card. Only stating the card number.

Anyway, those are pretty rare things to come by anymore. Took my brother ages to find Tucker and Jovanovski.

Does anyone have all of the parallels from 1999-00 Pacific Paramount? I don't know what the difference is between reg, silver and holo-silver.

Here's 99-00 Paramount. Beckett has Silver parallels in the system, but the base is the Silver as far as I know. Also, Holo-Gold and Holo-Silver were much easier in 99-00 than 00-01 since they're numbered different and have big wording on them. In 00-01 they were both /74 and you have to judge the shade, which is easy if you have both in front of you, but tougher if you don't.

One more, since they're some of my favorite shinies. And I'll throw in a plug to take any Avs Team Set Parallels off your hands...

They did 13 teams in boxes that only included a single team. 32 packs, 5 cards per pack. 20 card set, so you'd get like 7 team sets and 6-7 parallels per box. Avs, Blues, Bruins, Habs, Canucks, Devils, Flyers, Leafs, Ducks, Penguins, Rangers, Wings, Sabres I'm pretty sure.

I've found a box of Avs and a few packs over the years. I actually pulled a few Nucks cards out of my Avs packs too. Let me know if you have any avs parallels. I've got a few Bruins and Rags parallels hanging around somewhere too.

And just to point something out here (to add on to Cole's excellent posts) -- there is no distinction on the card between the Holo-Silver and Holo-Gold parallels. They are very tough to tell apart, since the serial numbering is the same, and they both use holographic foil. Unless you get a really good scan like the one Cole posted, you're pretty much going to have to look at them in person (holding them in direct glare is helpful, as that cancels out the holographic effects and leaves just the base color).

Great posts Cole & Andy, I always learn a lot following threads like this. Cole, just to add on to your Score group, some players (17) were included in a small set called "Check It". Here's my grouping for Iggy.

base, Golden Blades, Artist's Proofs, Check It

One more note about 00-01 Paramount, the full set was 252 cards, I believe it was intended to be a 250 card set but they snuck the Sedin twins in last minute as cards 251 and 252 with base only, no parallels (even though beckett lists all the parallels for them).

I thought there were more than that, 6 or 7 total. I seem to remember a Byron Ritchie on Kevin's wantlist...

I know these were made as I'm doing the master set but I have never need a live copy. If anyone has a live copy to show that would be great. That way I know what the pictures on the cards look like

Just finished this six-pack of parallels. Not sure how many of you knew about them.

There's the regular, silver, gold versions as well as the 'Fabrique au Canada' versions (reg, silver, gold).

Here's a closeup showing the difference.
