Here we ask how a card of a certain set looks like

Does anyone know if McDonald's created a parallel set of the 2005-06 base cards? I have these two Iginlas, and I've never seen another parallel:

I would _guess_ that those are similar errors than Upper Deck has made with those "No Foil" Series 1&2 cards. Feel absolutely free to correct me.

I am currently trying to create a list for the 01-02 Topps Reserve Autographed Puck and would like some help. I know this isn't a "card set" per se, but it is part of the set the Topps boxes that was sold. It is a great piece of a set that collectors should be aware of if they haven't been exposed to it yet.

Due to Topps not being the best in recording stuff to the internet, or keeping it there, I have not found a list for the players included in this set.

(This list is inspired by a box that I purchased last year that I got a Hasek "gold auto" puck. At that time I only saw a few of these listed anywhere.)

Here's my list so far that I've seen on Ebay. (This list composes listing that were described on ebay as being "Topps Reserve" or "Topps factory sealed" either in active or completed auctions starting on or before 4/26/14.)

1-Hasek
2-Kovalchuk
3-Cechmanek
4-Comrie
5-Tanguay
6-Hedjuk
7-Bondra
8-Brent Johnson
9-Oates
10-Hedberg
11-Gaborik
12-Arnott
13-Havlat
14-Brendl
15-Pronger

Added to list:
16-Peca
17-Justin Williams
18-Nabokov
19-Petr Sykora (Confirmed, thanks cheese!)

Finally, Puck #20:
Miroslav Satan

So, here's a little info on the Topps Reserve Pucks: autographed in either silver or gold marker, they come in a puck case with a Topps seal on the edge, a white square of paper on backside of the puck with a sticker who it is, and there is a Topps holo-sticker on the side of the puck with a serial number. These came 1 per box, along with 10 packs, and a slab graded RC from the set.

Update 7/28/14

I think I identified the last puck, making the set 20 auto pucks. Most of these I have seen one time or another on Ebay with the exception of Cheeseheadman's Sykora, which he confirmed is in storage at his parent's house recently along with another puck from the set.

I have created this little list to encourage a collector to try to complete this really neat niche set in either all players, all silver, gold or mixed. Give it a little time and I might try this in the near future.;)

Thank you.

Topps Reserve Pucks

There is a Peter Sykora NJ puck as well. I have it and a Hedberg sealed around here somewhere. One is gold and the other silver.

A bit different request since this is not a card, but for a long time I have been trying to track down a picture (for reference purposes) of an 01/02 Topps/Bowman Young Stars signed puck redemption /10 as well as the 02/03 version. I have only ever seen the 02/03 Nash and 01/02 Heatley, but both were before I began to document info (sales hist & pics).

I thought I saw a Ted Lindsey auto that looked like the pen and puck that they used but the description was lacking finer details.

So, here's a little info on the Topps Reserve Pucks: they come in a puck case with a Topps seal on the edge, a white square of paper on backside of the puck with a sticker who it is, and there is a Topps holo-sticker on the side of the puck with a serial number. My questions: Did Topps have retired stars autograph pucks (such as Ted Lindsey)? Can anyone add to the list of players for the auto'd puck list?

Thank you.

I currently have a Hossa Silver and Theodore Silver & Gold version on my shelf. The golds had a print run of 50 copies according to Topps back in the day.

There were no retired stars in the stuff but Fleer Legacy did have redemptions for signed pucks with retired stars. They were numbered /150 and came with a COA with matching serial number. I had a Bobby Hull at one time.

Thanks for the information.
As an FYI, some of the golds are still fairly inexpensive to get except Hasek and Kovy, that seem consistently high. And depending on the seller, some of the silvers are very inexpensive and would be great starters for the set.

Also, FYI, I think I completed the list of player auto'd pucks for the set. Check it out in this thread.

I also want to add a little fact about Kovalchuk's puck in particular. I have both his silver and Gold /50, both of them do a have label of his name, however Kovalchuk's first name is actually misspelled as "LLYA". So if anyone ever picks one up in the future, don't be alarmed as this is a mistake on Topps behalf.

A little off topic but...

I just picked up my first theo fleury 1/1 the other day. It is a 02/03 ITG Be a Player memorabilia ASJ-13. Beckett does not list the 1/1 version of these cards. Im not asking specifically how many theo fleury 1/1's are out there that arent listed, but in general, are there 1/1's that beckett doesnt list and how do you find that these cards exist?

There are such cards for sure and simply by seeing one.

There are oodles of ITG 1/1 cards from various shows/expos from the early 2000's, and Beckett does not even come close to listing them all. The best resource is ITG's website http://www.itgtradingcards.com/redemption-program/trade-show-programs - you can click on each year on the right hand side to get the details on what cards they produced... it will give you a pretty good idea of what's out there but in some cases the details are a bit vague. To the best of my knowledge there are almost 50 1/1's of each Sedin twin in the 2000-01 through 2003-04 seasons from ITG, I've managed to pick up a bit more than half of them.

In those early years from '00 through '04 it's mostly easy to keep track of as ITG generally did one or more colour parallels of the base set... in the past few years with a lot more insert sets, they'll put out special 1/1 versions of some of the inserts in a given product, but they don't usually list which sets specifically, for example I've seen at least 9 different Sedin 1/1 cards from 12-13 Draft Prospects split amongst the Draft Year... Present and Future... and Past, Present, and Future insert sets from a variety of different card shows, and I'm sure there are even more but the details here are unfortunately rather sketchy.

I don't think Beckett is ever going to come close to listing all of these, probably the best way to get a complete list of these would be all the collectors here pooling our knowledge - this might be worthy of a separate sticky thread specifically to track ITG promo cards, I'm sure there'd be a decent amount of interest in this.

Thanks for that ITG link, that is a good resource. I dont think this is a show or expo card. I have the non numbered version of this card and it is the same except for the 1/1 stamp

That is a show stamp 1/1 card given away at the 2003 All Star game fan fest in Sunrise Florida. If you opened up packs you were able to randomly choose show stamped base cards from a box, if you opened a box you got to choose one show stamped memorabilia card at random per box opened.

Thanks for the great link and info. This has been a tricky area for me. I try to snap up samples that I run across, but had no idea of how many series I was looking at. Love the idea of a sticky thread to help us track the ITG promo cards.

Cool, I think I'll take this on as a project, it'll probably take me a few days of research and scanning to try to pull together all the info from ITG's site, plus additional info I have, and then hopefully others will be able to fill in the missing stuff.

Yep looks like your right. When I posted the picture in the previous post, it was the largest image size I have seen of it, and I do see the Florida show stamp.

Thanks,
Billy
