I think their CBA terms run in 3 to 5 year blocks. When they finally agree to a "renewal", it's usually retroactive (to when the last one expired). So by then if they've been working 18 months without a deal,, it can then be as little as 18 months before you hear the same old song and dance. :P
 
Not sure about how the rest of the country is handling the legal-pot rollout today... but in Ontario the only way to get legal stuff is online ordering, which is to be delivered by CP.

Since this is the biggest province in the country, I can only assume the timing of the strike notice is NOT a coincidence. Gives them a little more leverage.

Not sure if it's because I am a "middle age" (early 40's) man who hasn't touched that stuff in decades, but I really don't get all the hullabaloo. Those who wanted to smoke it were already getting it elsewhere. I'm too boring and I'd rather spend my money on Parkhurst Retro and Aquarium stuff than on pot and booze. :P

There's probably a part of the population that aren't regular users and will be looking at trying a bit of the new legal stuff. A big part of them won't buy again when the novelty wears off.

That's a kind of habit that gets expensive fast. I stopped coffee, fast food and group breaks, it's not to start a new expensive habit. Saving cash for nice holidays, a new truck, a new snowmobile, maybe a bigger house. There's retirement and education of the childs to save for too.
