I was taking a look at the checklist and noticed that the base set has 199 cards (30 Heroes, 120 Prospects and 49 2013 Draft picks cards). I read that the 2013 Draft picks cards feature 3D fronts and seem to be a little scarce (compared to the regular base cards). What I'm wondering is do the 2013 Draft pick cards come in a regular base card version as well or do they only come in the 3D version (will someone like Seth Jones only have a 3D "base" card in this set?)?

Its a really cool way to create interest in collecting the base set. I have a base set of every year and I'm not going to stop now, it will just be a little more challenging and a lot more fun!!!

The checklist for the base cards and the autographs is already posted on the site :

According to it, Jones (and MacKinnon, and every other player part of the Class of 2013 subset) will have that base card only.

That's the checklist I was looking at. From reading it though I just wasn't 100% sure if the Class of 2013 base cards only came in the 3D version (mainly due to the odds of pulling the 3D cards). If that's the case, it won't be all that easy to collect the whole 199 card base set. It definitely won't be possible to get the set by getting a couple of boxes as it's been in the past.

I think it will make a base set collectible. And add value to base cards especially when there only 2 per box. You could consider them to be like a rookie card in a licensed product, basically. With the big guns like Jones, MacKinnon and Drouin able to fetch some decent money for a base card.
