HI members - what do you do to feed this addiction!?

Pathologist. If you prefer: Lab Rat. It suits me just fine - pays the bills, pays me hobbies, stash a little scratch inna bank. It's all good.

I do a fairly brisk trade in Things That Are Hard To Find. I buy'em when they're available, sit on'em, and wait till they disappear before they become available again. Helps to defray the cost of this hobby. Ultimately I'm losing, but at least that way I lose more slowly.

Still in university with many years to come :( I do have a part time job as a manager at a local sports venue. How do I pay for cards? The trick is to collect players that don't demand a lot of money! Notice its Orpik and Ouellet and not Lemieux and Crosby :)

I am a supervisor for the Nova Scotia Dept.of Transportation and Public Works(welder by trade). My crew and myself travel the Western district of the province repairing our aging steel bridge structures.Been doing this for 30 years with less than one year to go.And if the good lord sees fit and if I am still ****ing in air, than a year from now I will be retired and I will be posting to you guys from my very own little card shop here in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.Something I have been wanting to do for a while and everyone need something to keep their sanity after retirement. So I have been told.

Great thread.I enjoy reading this and it shows that collectors really do come from all walks of life. Happy New Years to everyone,Winston.

I'm in project/contract management, carrying about a $50M project load of water and wastewater plants for municipalities. I work in the central US region (so named by my company, not me), which is roughly from New Mexico over to Mississippi and straight up to the Canadian border.

I'm a dad to three kids, and for the amount of work involved, the pay stinks. :) During the day, I partake of my bill paying job - a structural engineer and project manager for probably the largest aboriginal owned engineering company in Canada.

I haven't designed anything famous or that large, but we've got a $60 million hospital in Sioux Lookout we're doing the design work for.

I buy and sell hockey cards on the side, but that's supposed to be to relax. HA! :)

I'm also a member of our local Rotary Club, which is very active in local and global fundraising. Again, the pay is REALLY bad.

Maybe being a dad isn't so bad...

I am the don daddy-o of The Grice Family, a major cartel based in the southwest. We have connections on the west and east coasts and roll deep at all times.:D

I am a legal drug maker, and I help sick people become better, or sick people keep staying sick ??? The Pharmacy world is boring and it pays the bills.

That, and I am "retired" by the military at age 27. Thats the cool part.

Now I need to get back into school and do something else.

I'm a group insurance underwriter (don't ask). I like to think I'm making a difference in the world, but in the grand scheme of things, I ain't. I'm restarting my engines to make a run at being a Police Officer for the Toronto Police Service, and I'm about 20lbs away from being in good enough shape to run the physical. At that point, I think I will be at the point where, Yes Virginia, I AM making a difference in the world.

Wish me luck...

I'm a full-time doctoral student in psychology with a really cool wife. Incidently she's TOO financially savvy and has caught me dipping into the school loan $$ for cards. However I collect lower end players as some of you have mentioned which makes it a LOT more manageable. I had to stop my Patrick Roy collection about 4 years ago when all the auto/patch etc cards were released ... wayyyyy out of my price range.
