I would love to know why you chose your nick name or handle for the Hobby Insider boards. Some names are pretty self explanatory but not some of the more cryptic names.

Mine is 99goals for only 1 reason. Wayne Gretzky and he could score..but my favorite player is Wendel Clark.. go figure..

Anyone else want to share their stories behind their names. Especially Bruce.. meatmancgy.. but you are in real estate LOL

I've been thinking of a handle change for a while now (I might just change it over to my Twitter ID since it's slightly more clever than my current name) but my name comes from a really obscure character name from the Simpsons. Homer invited the name after Marge fell in love with the mascot for Burley Paper Towels...

Homer: Hello, this is Chad Sexington, the model for Burley paper towels.
Marge: :gasp: How did you get my number!?
Homer: I.. don't know. But I was quite moved by your letter.

Ned Flanders: Playing a prankeroo, hey?
Homer: I was having a private conversation with my wife in the guise of Chad Sexington. Do you mind?

I'm glad my name is obvious and I don't have to explain it.....all the time.....

My name has no meaning and no real interesting story behind its origin. It's just something random that I came up with and it stuck. Previous nicknames had been CrazyGoose and Stellar_Banana, so clearly the mental illness that causes my weird names has gone on for some length of time.

I'm a real history nut (medieval and earlier), and my favorite author is Bernard Cornwell. One of the series he writes is called "The Saxon Stories", and Uhtred is the main character. I wanted a user name that was different, but that also reflected something about my interests.

My name has everything to do with my occupation of course.
PharmD: Doctor of Pharmacy
30: My age at the time of the inception of the handle
USP: (a play on pharmacy designation standard, USP is the designation of standard for pharmaceutical chemicals. Also, happens to be the initials of my alma mater, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia)

@pharmd30usp: very cool.. my entire family is in the pharmacy business. I know too much about that world lol

torquewrenchcharlie because of a sammy kershaw song "queen of my double wide" . in it he talks of the wifes new flame being the charlie daniels of the torque wrench....always liked that line.....
and since I am a mechanic......it just seemed right
thx for starting this post

When I joined here years back I took my 2 favourite bands at the time and meshed em. That's it. Dredg and glassJAw.

glassJAw remains my favourite band and Dredg is still in my top, oh I don't know, 10.

I've been considering a name change to Erndog for a while considering thats what most people call me outside the internet.

One of my favorite authors and series as well.

Mine comes from my childhood. I did all my growing at a young age and as a 6'3" / 180 lb 12 year old one of my teachers in grade 6 coined me "the big lummox". Junior high and high school I was officially "lummox" and the "0" replacing the "o" came about with the evolution of the internet and alot of usernames needing to be alphanumeric.

ah very cool. I am 6 3 myself.. but i was about 5 10 by the time i hit grade 8..

Nothing more boring than my home email account...

tkmullin

t - Tanie (my Wife)
k - Kendall (yours truly)

Was thinking of changing mine my website name (possible_obsession). Not sure how to go about doing that.

I think mine shows my lack of imagination and originality, especially comapred to others on HI.

P - 1st initial
Wag - 1st 3 letters of my last name
31 - age I was when I first used this for my work password.

Like Kendall, this post has made me want to change it to something more original and interesting.

The college hockey team I played on was the Lumberjacks and all of our gear bore the word "TIMBER" - I was number 9.

The first car I bought out of college and the only new car I have ever bought for myself (my wife has had dozens...ha!) had the personalized plates "TIMBER9" - I think it was when I originally signed up at either upperdeck or beckett where that username was already in place and timber09 was born.

One of my other hobbies is leopard geckos - used to breed them but now they just live large in a 7 storey condo unit :D

Fritz is the name of the first one I got around 10 yrs ago.
