Iceland - In 1994, despite having the best Junior team in the world, they lost to the plucky upstarts from the USA at the 'Goodwill Games', most of whom came from an inner city divisional team called the Mighty Ducks.

Despite the coaching of former NHLer Wolf Stansson, the mighty Icelanders were brought to their knees by the knucklepuck.

Since then, the Iceland program has fallen on hard times with their senior team ranked 38th in the World by the IIHF, and competing in Division II against such teams as South Africa, Armenia and the United Arab Emirates. This from a country with ICE in their name and veins...

Poor Iceland.

That team deserved to lose. Gunnar Staal should know that the triple deke is pointless if you deke 3 times, then come to a dead stop 25 feet away and fire a slap shot. Also, they had 6 skaters on the ice for the third goal.

Buncha cheaters.

FWIW I could feel my brain cells dying when I watched any of those movies - and I was still in Grade School at the time.

You cant stop the flying V, that is why it has been banned from NHL games just like trap D, wooden sticks, and teeth.

COME ON! You know darn well that teeth were reintroduced to the NHL after the lockout, along with hooking penalties and the abolishment of the two-line pass.

I guess I can understand this thread being taken out of the NHL team discussion, but could the mods please just delete it now or remove the fact I wrote it? Taken out of context with it here on it's own makes it read like I'm a moron posting idiotic banter, and it makes little sense unless you knew what thread it was in in the first place.

Thank you.
