I thought it might be nice for everyone to share some of their favourite holiday memories associated with this fine hobby...

1) The first time I ever remember getting cards at Christmas was in 1986 when a complete set of 1977-78 OPC WHA Hockey was put in my stocking. Talk about an awesome surprise!

2) In 1991, my Grandmother went down to the card store (the long-gone John's Card Shop in Trenton, Ontario) and bought me a mint Mark Howe RC and a 59-60 Ted Lindsay that was in incredible condition. I had the Lindsay signed a few years later and while my Grandma is no longer with us, I can't forget that she went out of her way to get me something so awesome.

3) The same year also saw my Uncle send me a signed Guy Lafleur rookie card. Awesome? Oh yeah...

4) Two years ago, my stepdaughter bought me a blaster box of Victory. She insisted on it, in fact... gotta love that!

Merry Christmas or Festivus to all of you!

Best Christmas hobby memory was pulling the Rangers 1/1 in my sig. Awesome card and that it was my team made it all the more special.

Good luck to everyone in their Christmas present breaks and Happy Holidays!

Just a silly memory but it fits the holiday mood.
Back in the day, my mother would always invite my aunt and her family over for Christmas Day dinner. My little cousin was a total brat at the time, and would basically take over the house whnever she came. She would bring all her christmas presents with her and spead them all over our house, like she was moving in. She would fill up our couch with her dolls she got and tell us the couch was already full and we'd have to sit on folding chairs.
So every year when I could take no more, I'd take a walk up to the nearby convienence store that's ALWAYS open. Usually I'd buy pop or ice cream, something to take back for the family after dinner.
Well, this one year, they were carrying sportscards for some reason, and I bought a bunch of packs of old ProSet cards for a few dollars at most.

Christmas Day, and I pulled a Santa Claus card!!LoL!! Worthless, but still cool as heck!!

Christmas 1990: Parents got me a box of 90-91 Score for Christmas. Somehow, I managed to space it out and open it over a period of 1 pack per day. Then I put them into these card pages that my dad had bought me that were so thickly cut and razor sharp that I cut myself on them a couple times...didn't put the full set together, and didn't pull a Lindros, but I remember opening it on Christmas Day and freaking.
