So yesterday was the release date for Bowman... and I decided to pop by Maple Leaf Sports to see the carnage that was expected from the resident Chromies. When I got there, they hadn't arrived yet, but once they did, I thought I'd grab a few Jumbo packs for my annual foray - which is significantly reduced from the levels I had achieved back in mid-2000s.
It was a pretty fruitful box - and here are the top 3 pulls
#3 - Brenny Paulino Orange Prospect Refractor/25 - not bad at all - tough parallel of the #4 rated Tigers prospect by BA
Now this is where the fun begins - this was the first autograph I pulled out of the box
#2 - Gerrit Cole Blue Refractor Auto/250 - Now I was plenty happy with this - Blue Refractor of last year's #1 pick, that was gonna make the box profitable already... then a couple of packs later, my jaw just dropped with #1
Yu Darvish Autographed Blue Refractor RC/250. Given how much I've read about the odds being much longer, especially for one of the marquee players in this set, I never believed I had a shot. So on that note, I may rip maybe another box, but there's no way I'll be able to top this - probably one of my biggest pulls in a LONG time.
