I would have rather seen Aston-Reese or anyone else instead of Tom Sestito. I mean unless there was a reason for a goon in a meaningless game (for the Pens at least). Not to mention the bone headed contact with the goalie.....not sure how intentional it was but it seemed he could have made a better effort to advoid the head.

Tom Sestito, Tanner Glass, Matt Cooke, Jarko Ruutu...

Do I agree with everything they do? Absolutely not.

Sestito has done his job this year, and the limited games played means that role is being phased out of the game. I think there will always be a small need for the type of players mentioned above, but their job can be done in fewer than 10 games a year and 10 minutes per game.

That being said, I would hate if Andersen getting hurt in that fashion is the reason the Leafs miss the playoffs.

And as soon as i hit enter Toronto tied it up. Then scored again to win. Talk about a tense 7 minutes.

Congrats to long suffering Leafs fans and to Austin Matthews for scoring his 40th

not going to lie and say i happy the leafs won this game but glad they are in the playoffs. I think Sestito is a UFA this year. I suppose he might be signed.
I guess I see your point I did like Cooke....he seemed to try to change up his game during his last days with the Pens. Of course ive been a fan of "goons"....Ulf and maybe Barnaby to a lesser extent.

I like the guy's that tip toe that line of legal/illegal. Sestito is definitely more Kool-Aid Man than a ballerina though.

Glad the Leafs got in, disappointed Fleury didn't get the W. I expect Jarry to get his first NHL start tomorrow.

Don't forget Sestito got suspended 4 games for taking out Enstrom back in early March. Jets lost the next two games vs Calgary and Nashville. Jets adjusted and were super hot to end the season, but a few extra key wins and they could have squeaked in the playoffs.

I'm glad the Leafs didn't lose despite losing Andersen b/c that would suck and just encourage running the goalie as a way to possibly win key games.
