House Broken Into - High End Pieces Stolen

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the advice and ideas. Unfortunately I did not have the tracking app on my Mac Book, I just had recently got it and didn't install it ASAP. I did contact my local shops and reached out to as many shops I could in California. As I am compiling my list of stolen items to give to the police/insurance the pit in my stomach grows with each listing and realizing how much was taken and this was only 1/3 they managed to grab.

I don't think the SCUM bags knew a lick about hockey as they just grabbed what was in my fire lock box (all the high end) and yes I realize I put a neon sign on those items, but they forced the lock open. They did leave my Crosby Ultimate RC auto and a a few other Cup Shields, maybe they were in a hurry.

I really do appreciate all of you for keeping an eye out at local shows and posting to blogs/tweets etc. The HI community has always been the best and I really appreciate all your ideas/help.

L

Sorry to hear about this!!! I hope you will get your stuff back one way or another. At least they didn't take any shields or the Crosby RC.

if you have a twitter account... post this and ask for retweets on this thread... hopefully we can catch this SOB quickly!

this is awful!!! sorry Lionel

I have linked this on my blog, I hope we can help you out. My blogs go automatically to my twitter account as well

Lionel,

What a tragedy! I can't believe it. So sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully the items show up online and you catch the bas*ards that did this!!

L- that totally sucks. Tragic news. I'm so sorry to hear about it and of course I'll keep an eye out as well.

this is my first time back to boards in a couple of weeks and this is what I see :(

hope they find this piece of **** and you get your stuff back.

Dave

Unless these are sold into a PC they will appear somewhere between all the internet sites or a card shop. With so many unique rare items with a lot of them being serial numbered they will be easy to spot if they hit the open market. Lets hope this ends with a happy ending.

just another reason to spend $50 or so a year and get a safety deposit box down at the local bank (which is exactly where my Stamkos Cup 3-color RC resides)

It may sounds really weird but have you made a trade with a new member in your area lately? I always tough to myself that it would be really easy for a thief to make a trade and get your address. Plus, with a bucket, he will know exactly what card you have and if it is worth the shot...
Or it's a pure coincidence that your High End or missing but what are the odds?
Good luck and I will keep an eye also!

In some ways we are thinking alike..While I guess it could be a coincidence...I would think your normal theif is going to try and steal a TV (that could be carried out easily) jewerly...Items that might be in the open.

Were these items displayed in the open? or Did the scum bag that has less worth than the piles(have 2 dogs) in my back yard just have a good idea where to look?.

Makes me want to take certain pics off photobucket...or at least make em private

EDIT:just realized these questions were answered

oh how nice it would be to "win" all your own stolen items back & show up with the law to pick them up. Good luck!!

Thanks Darren for the PM! Thanks Jonathan for the text.

Any advice guys on how to proceed? Via Ebay or is there a function within ebay to report stolen items as I do have a police case on it.

Any advice is appreciated guys..

L

Hello,

Just discussed this with Darren. Thank goodness for newer inserts with serial numbers. Makes identifying card(s) that much easier. Hopefully Lionel gets your message or text so he can get in contact with the seller. Fingers crossed this gets resolved as well.

Cheers,
