I recently started picking up some vintage baseball and ended winning this auction the other day. I was able to knock a cool $100 off the final price thanks to that killer 15% Ebay coupon. I don't know much about vintage or PSA grading with "Altered" designations. My understanding its usually due to trimming or touching up cards to make them appear in better condition. I realize this Mantle also suffers from the 3D printing flaw which btw is not a huge distraction. Anyhoo, I chose the "Altered" route because they are generally cheaper and some of the PSA 1 and 2's Ive seen have been really brutal with heavy creases, rounded corners, tears, writing on card...etc. Plus the price increases quite a bit........thanks for the look and comments/opinions are greatly appreciated.

:hithere: I do vintage baseball but we already discussed this in PM :)

altered will never bring any big retur, i hope you did not send much

It's not always about "the return". That Mantle can sell for crazy money so picking up a cheaper altered copy is a good way to add one of the hobby's most desirable cards to your collection.
