How do you Rate 06-07 SP Authentic

Hey all. I haven't done one of these type threads in a long time, but I was curious to see what you all think of 06-07 SP Authenic. Simple Question. On a scale of 0 to 5 how do you rate this years SP Authentic. Poll attached and comments are welcomed. Mike

Based on my two boxes that I have done, I can give it a solid 4.25 - but the rating is skewed due to the hits that are coming from last year's product being inserted. Based solely on 06-07 product being in the boxes, it would be closer to a 3.0...

The people who were upset about last year's had their right to be upset however I feel that by including the stuff from last year on top of a sweet design of this year's cards that UD has hit a homer with this release. If I could afford it I'd do another 3 cases.

I gave it a solid 4. Even though my case wasn't the greatest, the product is packed with goodies.

I think any wax product can be judged like this:
1- Not worth opening at any price, burn the money & save space
2- Worth opening later after the price drops
3- Worth opening now, price is liable to increase
4- Worth buying for resale later

I'd say SP Authentic is a strong candidate for the 3rd and 4th category. You can make money on boxes/cases now if you hit well. This does seem to be a typical UD hit-or-miss product, with very little middle ground. If you possess the strength to have it lying around and not open it, it's a great product to buy for resale after the supply dries up. The chane to pull Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin in the same box/case is too much for collectors to pass up.

above average for the 3 boxes I opened. that is based on it having last year's product in it. without that, my breaks were horrible.

Seeing very low returns because of a flooded market of 05/06. Have seen and heard of many bad cases where all people are getting is 05/06 stuff. Not too many people celebrating huge 06/07 pulls from the product. Watching closing prices on some of the auto rooks from the 07 side isn't too impressive. Either way you slice it most collector's are gonna like it because of the quantity of pulls you get (not quality). I do not think you will see a huge investment potential in factory sealed cases but there will always be a demand because of how juiced the product is. All in all I think UD WILL NOT try this approach again. Not gonna lie though,...as a collector who likes to buy low to sell high later I can't complain. Gonna build a nice SPA collection from 05-06 to 'cha-ching' on later.

The only reason my three boxes felt above average is that it included so many 05-06 cards. If this poll is based strictly on the product in the boxes that is new this season, it gets a 2 from me.

I think there is a good value for your money, but you can't expect a home run after only getting a couple of boxes. Most collectors that have been purchasing SPA in bulk have indeed been getting some sweet cards.

Adding goodies from last year most definitely makes this year a better product, but it makes me wish I didn't purchase any last year. UD should have informed that last years product would be included in this years and I'm sure all the hassle that took place could have been avoided. Oh wells, at least everyone is happy this year!

It's by far our best-selling product this year. We've definitely seen some loaded boxes. Even the not so great boxes, aren't really that bad

My box of SPA may have been the exception to the rule, but I pulled 5 autos out of mine. It soothed the burning on my rim from the half box I broke with FrankToronto last year. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I plan on opening more int he next two weeks or so.

I have seen boxes with as many as 6 autos and some boxes have been SUPER loaded with all sorts of goodies. It's the possibility of getting all the huge rcs from this and last year plus all the other nice things that make this product very popular right now.

I am not sure if the popularity will go down, but the whole idea is ming-boggling and should keep this product hot for the next few months at least. That is of course if the price doesn't go through the roof.

I've only done singles, but I do like the clean sharp look of the FW Autos and the patches.
