How do you store your cards?

Hey guys, just wondering what you do with all your inserts/base cards, we have too many of these, and we're wondering what do you do with them? Where do you put them? They just take up way too much space...

this is how i do it


set > binders
inserts > penny sleves and/or toploaders
game used/autos > sleves and top loaders
base/dups > boxes

Yeah, we've got our game used / autos / rookies and whatnot in toploaders + sleeves, but the base cards are just overwhelming!! Thanks for the idea!

my base just sits in boxes...When I have to many boxes in my room, up to the attic they go....out of sight, out of mind....

I have my really nice cards and thick cards (patches, pads, etc.) in one-touch magnetic holders. All jersey cards and autographed cards go in penny sleeves and top loaders. All rookies go in penny sleeves and rookie card top loaders. Sets go in binders, base in boxes.

After ive helped everyone that needs base i give the rest to a childrens hospital to give out to the kids...

I used to give them all to my younger cousin, but now he`s in uni. and more interested in girls, so I`ve been making a stack. The childrens hospital sounds like an excellant idea!

Yeah I have sent all my base for the last 3 years to Childrens Hospital in Philly and DC.
Nothing wrong with showing some love for the Kids.

Anything that is mere base is stored away in boxes, all inserts, autographs and jersey or patch cards are stored away with penny sleeves inside of toploaders then carefully placed away in boxes.

If it is a current set that I am working on then they are usually set aside on my desk so i can look at them now and again.

All of my ip auto's or ttm auto's are stuck away in binders.

I break up my collection in three catagories:

Jersey/Rc/Inserts/Autos over $10. These go in sleeves and top loaders and placed in a Super shoebox's.

Any Rc/Inserts/Autos card that has a book value of $1-9 dollars goes into a 5000 count box.

Everything else goes for less than a dollar goes into 3200 count boxes.

It really helps when I have to try and find a card or set.

Every card I have that books 40 + goes in a magnetic holder, anything lower goes in soft sleeve and toploader. Base goes in the garbage.

Talked to the youth leader at the local church... asked him if he wanted the cards to use at his youth events.

It's a shame you had to throw them in the trash. Recycling would have been an option, or giving them away like some others on here. But to each their own I guess.
