How does second chance offer work???

Hi all,

I was outbid on an item (second highest bidder), by a zero feedback bidder. If, by some chance the winner doesn't come through, and the seller offers me a second chance offer, how does it work? Will it be offered to me at my highest bid, or would it be offered to me at what I would have rightly won it had the zero feedback bidder not been involved? The discrepancy between my 2nd place bid and the third place bidder is pretty high....

Doesn't the seller have some level of control as to how much the second chance offer is? I have heard of sellers asking for the final sale price even though the person getting the second chance didn't bid that high.

Not possible, you can only send whatever the last visible bid of that user was.

Okay, the case I mentioned was probably an off-eBay offer. I've never had a second chance offer and I'm not sure if I'd even take one for fear of shill bidding

Thanks guys. I guess all I can do is wait and see. The worst that could happen would be that the seller opts to relist, in which case I would likely get it cheaper anyway.

No, this zero feedback bidder has popped up bidding on all kinds of auctions that I've been considering, not just the one from this seller. He seems to have deep pockets too....likely another newbie player collector who thinks he has to have everything right off the bat. He'll either drop a ton of coin in very short order, or give up after a while.
