How high will this go?

Oh but to have the kind of eff around money to be able to put the equivalent of a house (or at least a very strong down payment on one) on a sports card.

I'm going to guess $802,000.
 
Out of curiosity, what would an ungraded copy go for? I know both Ovi and Crosby run in the new luxury car range, but maybe they are up to house levels.
 
I have a guess, but not for the final amount--I will guess that it will end up on the auction block again shortly after he breaks Gretzky's record. This is a short-term 'investment'.

I got a feeling the flood gate of Ovi cards will burst open when he breaks the record. Gonna be a ton of stuff coming up for sale.
 
Should have never been granted a 10 label given the glaring off-centeredness, imo. Nonetheless, I'll say around $325k before premium.
 
$182k was the hammer price - still a lot of money, but much lower than what everybody guessed. Interesting on pop 1 cards, does the patch even matter. If it was a one Color patch, would the price be much different? My gut tells me no.
 
That was "low" but in my opinion a positive sign for hockey card collectors. I'll never be a buyer in the $100k price point anyway but hopefully these cards continue going in real collections instead of getting bought by fractional platforms (RIP to most of these) to get sold back to collectors at a premium.
