According to NHLSACAP.com B Schenn is being paid over $3 mil this coming year. I thought the CBA had a rookie max.Lombardi must feel he is the real deal.
Makes the $3 mil for Justin Williams seem reasonable. Must really P O a guy like Sean O'Donnell.

top picks get payed more based on where they were taken overall. doughty is also making over $3 mill still on his rookie contract

Yeah. CAPGEEK has him at $900,000 ($67,500 in AHL)but with bonuses the cap hit is over $3 mil. Pretty costly for a guy who played 1 NHL game and was -1.

He's not making that money whilst in the AHL.

But yes, the top rookies always get big bonuses. If you're a 1st overall pick, you can make upwards of $3M a year after bonuses. Price, the 5th pick, makes 2.1M after bonuses. It's mostly in relation to where you're chosen

It'd be nice to see some of the details of the bonuses..I am sure if he reaches all of them(even if not likely) he might actually be worth the 3mill. I would bet most of those incentives are pretty hard to live up to.....

To avoid circumventing the cap - they have to be realistic (they can't be just for hitting 50 goals or 100 pts or conversely for scoring 10 pts) and they have to be attainable (sliding scales for points and goals,) etc...
