How is this possible?

The only thing guaranteed in this hobby...anything is possible when it comes to quality control at these card companies lol

Good grief :|

It's cutting it close, but I still have some time to make a goofy looking website before Spring Expo... :)

Maybe all jersey numbers are duplicated. If anyone has a 13/14 Cup RPA, may be worth a quick search if there are others.

wow never seen that, and thats from Cup i thought that product is hand packed ? so no quality control..

Okay. I don't follow his stuff as much as most people do. So, I'm probably out to lunch with this.

Is it possible that two are made of each Cup ARP in case one is damaged? Get Putaplayername #25/249, it's damaged, scream at UD for a new one, and voila!, there it is! Except in this case, the second one inadvertently got out.

Highly doubt that is the case, but is it even a remote possibility? Because if it is, yet another can of worms is opened.

This has got to be so uncommon of an occurrence. I probably have over 2500 UD Exclusives/HGs from various years and I don't have any of them with the same number. Yes, relatively small sample size; but with the players I hoard for these two things, it hasn't happened.

Not being a 'UD lover' with this, just throwing something out there...

The big issue isn't that there are two of the same number. That would be an exceptionally easy mistake to make.

But my question is: are there actually now 250 (or more) of the card, or did this number replace another number in the series?

Upper Deck should buy one of the two cards from the seller and destroy it publically

I doubt it. I imagine they would make ~10-25 extras and as damage cards come in stamp them with the necessary number. It cuts the production almost in half since you aren't making 2 of each number.

If I am not mistaken we have seen stamped numbers been duplicated in the past. My thoughts are the cards are going through a stamping machine, it runs into an error, they reset it to the last card through, and then hit go again. That way if it stops on 34, you reprint 34 so you know you have one good one. Then it just slipped through QC.

they should buy both copies at the buy it now , no matter how it is and fix their mistake............ I agree they should destroy it publically at the expo or nationals where lots of people can witness it and the other copy they can re issue in a buyback release or auction it off with all proceeds going to a charity

but its ud. besides a very select few they don't know the hobby like they should,,, I'm sure someone from ud is reading this post and probably laughing

I've gotten doubles of High Gloss Young Guns Josh Jorris last year.

Emailed UD CS about it, no response. Tweeted them, nothing.

I think i had 4-5 HG YGs for Josh Jorris (2 doubles for Serial numbers, 3 others, and seeing a twin on ebay), sold them all off including all my other High Gloss cards.

They must have duplicated the print run for the HG YG for Josh Jooris that year.

What's next, putting two different serial numbers on the same card?

Yeah, like that'll ever happen...

I'm assuming that I'll be in the minority on this.... but is this REALLY such a big deal? Consider the fact that, in a given year, UD produces several million numbered cards. There's bound to be the occasional mistake. It's not the end of the world.
