How does a sick low numbered patch of the best American player sell for twenty dollars from a top 4 high end set of the year? We see Bobby Orr autos selling regularly under 100 dollars. They have to cut down product, big time.

If anyone is going to take over UD's market share it's not going to be because of the product they put out, as many said there are too many staples that UD has that cannot or are not matched at this time.

If UD loses market share it will be because of UD or the collectors refusing to buy their product, not another card company. They are still surviving even with all the legal issues, PR nightmares (Tricky Dyck), loss of licenses, etc. Every time we think UD has completely imploded and are going down, they slither their way through it and continue to make bank. The gamblers will continue to shell out big money on Cup, and all the non-licensed Exquisite FB, BK, BB products which absolutely shocks me. Remember the card brand Classic? That's what the non-licensed Exquisite products remind me of just on thicker card stock, and people are shelling out $500 for a 5 or 6 card pack of that stuff. Unreal...

I want to know how long it will be before mega-billion dollar Panini buys out Upper Deck (or at least its properties, since no one wants to buy lawsuits and debts)...

Slightly off topic but, I want ITG to get a license (licence) - THEN you'll see someone overtake UD/Panini whoever stays in the mix.

hilarious ... ITG will never be on the same continent as these two

UD designs are cleaner and as mentioned, brand recognition will be difficult to surpass

He did say if ITG was licensed. I felt when ITG was licensed before they were putting out products as strong as anyone else at that time.

not until they improve their turn around on redemptions........although both company's are terrible panini is particularly pathetic in getting their cards out and getting an answer from someone in their customer service department is next to impossible (an answer not a response) factor in the fact score is the worst product on the market and they have a long way to go

Panini or ITG will never be the number one so long UD has their insane fanboys who pays outrageous amounts of $ for UD-related cards/items...

I like all those 3 and I hope that they will continue to contribute us collectors with nice array of cards so long they could....but damn with all those lock-outs...Pacific gave up during the lastest lock-out in 04-05...it would be really sad if any of those gone bankruptcy....

It will be fun to watch the battle. I think the main reason there is so much clamor about this year's Cup is because of price. For that reason alone I think people are finding Panini products much more attractive. But I'll tell you what.... If Dominion becomes ragingly popular at $375 a box, next year it will open at $425. Year after that, $475. In not much time at all, Dominion will start to equal Cup in price and that's where the horse race begins.

I opened a 3-box case of The Cup this year and I paid $365 a tin. I was completely happy with my break and I would take all the stuff I could get at that price. Problem is, wholesalers control the prices after the initial direct release and you won't find it for under $500. Get Cup back down to under $400 a tin and it is hand-down, without a doubt, the best release of the year every year. AINEC. Price drives quality, quality drives value, value drives satisfaction.
