I know a lot of people collect 1 player or 1 team .....but how many of you collect more than 1 player or team etc?

I collect Penguins,Svatos,John Gibson and nice goalies ....and have a small PC of a baseball player and then a small PC of random guys I thought I needed autographs of like Yzerman,Sakic, brodeur etc

I've got a few projects in the go. Some large in scale...some simple and more for fun.

In no specific order...

Trevor Linden pc (completionist on this one)
Oscar Gamble pc (really enjoying this smaller scale player collection)
Goalie mask cards (sets like Masked Men but also good closeup photos on cards)
Raise The Cup (cards with photos of players hoisting the Stanley Cup)
51/52 Parkhurst (not a high-end build...but a slow, lifelong chase)
Hall Of Fame autos (hard-signed signatures from those enshrined)
Voices of the Game (autograph cards depicting broadcasters of the NHL)

I'm still trying to come up with a unique/oddball type build similar to my 1 vs. 100 concept from a few years ago. In the meantime I'm working on the Premier Signature Champions sets....they look fantastic.

All in all, I like the balance of collections I have set for myself and at the end of the day it's all about staying within a budget and having fun.

Been doing a reset for my collecting and PC stuff. I have settled on these four current guy's right now - Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Brian Elliot and Artemi Panarin. Also looking for 1980's opc PSA 10's of all John Vanbiesbrouck and Dino Ciccarelli cards. With the modern guy's I am trying to knock off some staple rookies, but am on a budget as far as how high I can go. Really only interested in BGS graded rookies, inserts and autos of the above modern group.

I still have some of the old school mentality collecting big sets like the 12-13 panini classics but I have changed collections a bit. I quit the master set chase of 04-05 ITG Franchises for certain reasons and have replaced that with collecting vintage NHLers......Orr,Howe,Gretzky,Lemieux,Wendel Clark, older leafs. Also have a nice Newfoundland PC but as far as the new product filled with the newer stars ,it's not my thing.

Wendel Clark PC
Baseball HOF auto pc
Odd ball pc
Gretzky PC (when I can afford a nice piece lol)
Jackie Robinson PC
Negro Leagues baseball PC
Lonny Bohonos PC

There are many.

Player collections: Barry Pederson, Andrew Alberts, and Sergei Zinovjev are completionist, but there are many other players I collect.
Set collections: 1970s and 1980s Topps are my favorites, but I also venture into OPC and I've got a lot of 1990-1993 sets from all manufacturers as that was my heyday.
Pro Set Collection: There's seemingly always more Pro Set out there.
And the rest: Whatever strikes my fancy. I've got a lot of junk wax which I enjoy, I've got only one year of some sets, I'm slowly building a 2005-06 Cup base set, I collected the 2004-05 Pacific jersey set for some reason, etc.

My Sedin PC hovers around 99% complete (excluding 1/1's and some oddball stuff).

Lord Stanley's Mug master set is nearly done, excluding a few expired redemption cards and loads of 1/1's.

Working on the 14-15 Masterpieces master set, around 99% done.

Also working on 08-09 Masterpieces - just the brown borders... need 5 jersey cards and about a dozen autos.

My most recent project is 15-16 ITGU Vintage Memorabilia silver, a dozen to go, these are tough as they're almost all x/5 or less.

Only set I've ever finished is National Treasures Greatest Signatures... a relatively 'easy' set with only 22 cards and only 4 SP x/10's.

I have my main which is my Patrick Roy PC
Then I have some smaller ones like Hejduk, Avs, Pre 1989 Vintage and I guess you can say sets as well.

Four -

Anatoli Tarasov (only a handful of cards made, but I chase whatever I can get my hands on - mostly autographs and press photographs)
Ivan Hlinka (a couple of dozen cards, still missing some newer from Czech sets)
Vsevolod Bobrov (same case as Anatoli)
The Italian National Team (The girlfriend is Italian so I came up with a little silly side project to keep me busy, down to two cards)

Complete sets of:

Upper Deck - Regular Issue w/YG's
OPC Vintage
OPC Regular
OPC Retro

As a set collector I had thought that this would be tougher then collecting a team or player. But, as the industry has gone to more limited print versions of cards, I am seeing the set side is easier. Expect when it comes to vintage as condition is the key.

07-08 opc premier
09-10 bap rookie patches
00-01 sp authentic sign of the times
And I've been trying to get one low printed auto or sp auto of the greats.

I have a bad habit of adding PCs when I hit a lull in picking up cards or get bored. :loseit:

My sig pretty much covers it plus Goalie RCs for the ongoing project.

I am considering a new PC and have picked up a few low end cards but am really trying not to as I cannot afford another PC :|
