I have a BGS9.5 Alex Barkov FW (9.5 x 3, 9 AU), but graded cards really don't fit into my collection. I would much rather flip it for some ungraded copies. Any idea what the multiplier would be, so-to-speak for graded over ungraded?

It really depends from set to set and player to player. On newer cards i can see it adding 30-50% of the raw card value, assuming the raw card is 'mint'.

For example mcdavid YG is selling for roughly $150 raw and $200ish BGS 9.5

Best bet is to look at ebay completed sales.

Really depends on the card and how hot he is on the market. I think anywhere from 50%-100% on top of HI BV would be a fair assessment, and that's of course negotiable.

Example:
Price YG's right now are about $130CAD raw.
Price YG's with 9.5 BGS have a range of $172.50CAD to $261.83 (a PWCC auction) to a BIN of $314.20.

That BIN is a bit of a high outlier, but the other two give an idea of what is possible.

Just my humble opinion....

The 9 auto grade will bring it down a notch though...

I agree. Just my opinion, but most desireable graded cards it is common to see the auto grade higher than the actual card does. Not so much the other way around. You may have a little harder time unloading it. But hey! I could be wrong! Us collectors are a finiky bunch, maybe someone will be specifically looking for this type of card. Either way, good luck with your sale!

ps..My best guess is 10-15% more in value for this particular card.

I'd guess that any benefit that the 9.5 gives will be neutralized by the 9 auto.

Am I correct in assuming the only reason an auto gets downgraded is by some sort of reduction in eye appeal, as opposed to actual quality of auto compared to a player's "regular" signatures? Does anyone know?

It's essentially the quality of the penmanship: is the colour consistent, or are there any "lifts"? If it is a sticker auto, is the entirety of the signature on the label?

it also depends on how many 9.5's there are of that card. the Mcdavid YG is only $200 cuz there are so many of them. where as if there were only a couple you would see that value sky rocket.
