I have never bought a card on IG but might be tempted to start. But how do you do it? How does it work? Is it always PayPal?

In my experience it's seller-based. For example I state that I prefer paypal but EMT works as well and I always state my prices are in USD. Depending on which country the seller is in, those could vary.
Ultimately it can be a leap of faith so be smart and be cautious. Paypal does at least provide you some level of protection.

I would personally stay away from IG since even though they do have a sports card pressence it is nowhere as big as the ones on Twitter, Facebook or even Discord.
If you follow this advice, you'll be missing out on cards sold by people like me and Glenn and many other great and honest sellers on IG who don't sell elsewhere. Just use the same precautions you would use on Twitter or Facebook, both of which I've seen many horror stories of deals gone bad up to the millions of dollars. IG may actually be the best of the bunch.

Ben, I have made hundreds of great contacts and relationships on IG. And I've bought and sold in the hundreds there too. If you ever need to gain comfort on a potential trade partner, hit me up. I offer that to anyone from HI looking to do a deal on IG.
