Just announced at the CDD Conference. First signed cards in SP Authentic.

I couldn't be the first one to post this but yes, the information is correct. Upper Deck will be putting in a whole bunch of flashback/retro rookies into the upcoming sets of these two players.

I highly doubt this. It's more of coming to grips with economies of legal war on both sides. Makes sense to let it go.. I suspect that the court battles will be settled magically as well. However I am not an expert nor was I there.. meh.. nothing to see here.

Great for Sabres and Devils fans to get those flashback cards that were unfortunately not made. It will be interesting to see how those cards are received especially if UD doesn't clearly indicate they're part of 18-19 SPA. Pretty sure UD has "added" to the checklist before long after the fact (John Gibson in 13-14 if I'm not mistaken?)

Also I'm pretty sure I read on twitter that UD made a deal with the NHL Alumni association which gives them access to use a large number of retired players as well. Might see some fresh faces in sets.

Sorry to burst any bubbles but that is not true.
We finished both deals and the guys were free to sign with UD.

We could have kept our deals in place, but we didn’t see value in deals past the rookie year.

To me, it was obvious that someone was shovelling cattle manure. Even UD wouldn't be offering exclusives to players beyond their rookie years. We all know what drives this hobby.
