OK gang. This may be a total false alarm, but not being a techie I would prefer to play it safe.

My company has been recently bought out, and that means we migrate over to their version of internet. They are an extremely large corporation, and I have come to understand that they are very rigid with "non-compliant sites". Non-compliant means sites not related to business.

Since my work laptop is my only computer, I may be ex-communicated for an undetermined amount of time. We were planning on getting a PC at home; however with two car wrecks in a month (eveyone is fine ) plus Christmas closing in, the PC moves to the back-burner.

In preparation of this I have not pursued any trades or purchases (here or anywhere) so I think my slate is clean with everyone.

I will leave my business e-mail addy and cell phone number with Dan Mercer (27Leafs27) as well as Wes (Penaltyman) {sorry you two drew the short straw }. If something comes up where I appear to owe someone something please contact them for details.

Of course as stated in the opening, this may all mean nothing. I am not sure how they determine which is a non-compliant site and which is not.

They are taking my laptop away this weekend for "system upgrades". Hope to see you all next Monday

I'm under one of those work blockers right now, as far as I know the only things blocked are ebay/poker sites. No I'm not at my own job goofing off, I'm hanging out while my gf catches up on some work. I'm going to go ahead and say that naughty sites are blocked too, but I'm not the kind of person to go looking into that

Hopefully they will just block "time wasting" or gambling etc sites and you can still surf the good ol HI

I work for a large company and we subscribe to a list of "banned" sites that are placed on the Proxy server. Any of the Hotmail or Yahoo-type mail sites are blocked because of security concerns. Any of the "adult-themed" sites or sites that have "naughty" words in them are blocked as well as all Fantasy Sports, Poker, Lottery, Ebay or anything else where extreme amounts of time can be wasted.

So far HI and some of the other sites have been OK, Upper Deck's site is OK but Fleer's is blocked so there's no rhyme or reason to it. Your company may do the same thing.
