I wonder how much more UD is fake

A big time grapher in both big names and scrubs this is a hard read, not in content but in the aspect of bad autographs...I guess this is why I don't do much in big time guys anymore unless I can get em in person. Thanks for posting that danandkat, a good story for any grapher to read. jason

Yeah I watched that show on HBO, and there was one guy who could almost perfectly sign and copy like all baseball legends and stuff, and sell to a company who sold to UD etc whatever, but thats the good thing about BASKETBALL, they haven't been around that long, so all the legends or about 90 percent of them were still alive to sign their cards!!! Sorry baseball guys....

Eric....all should be concerned. After reading all this, apparently UD does not do anything to make sure any graph is legit. Be it a '05 Joe Nathan or '99 Magic/Bird. The statement on the back, doesn't mean a **** thing.

Thanks

No, the problem is signature cuts. They entire piece are sold on Ebay all the time. That's why I prefer to pay $20-$30 for the cancelled check then paying hundreds of dollars for a card with the cut out signature from the check.

Yeah the cut signatures is the problem these days, not the autos on the cards, so baseball, not b-ball is the major concern there, cause if im not mistaken all the legends are mostly on cuts because they are dead, and use old cut sigs, basketball sigs now have certified stickers on them, so their legit.

Yeah, but what majority of the card companies do is mail off the cards to the athletes and the athletes return the cards signed. Now, there has been examples where family members help sign some of those cards.

I would expect Upper Deck to make a few mistakes with Legendary Cuts. To make a mistake on the best card in the set is completely inexcusable however.

If anything UD should do its due dilegence and make sure of the history and/or authenticity of the graphs. They do not period. And from what I have read, they do not. Be it a cut sig or regular auto.

Shame on you UD.

Thanks

Clemens....did you check out the 2nd link I put up. Come on, how do you mistake Hermita Dandridge for Ray? Or Carmina Mack for Connie. That is plain ridiculous.

As you guys know, I do not collect this stuff. Never have and have no plans to do so. I just can't believe UD is this bad producing these cards that are selling, for whatever reason, for so much. Its just plain bad. And makes me wonder why anyone would buy these on the secondary market.

Thanks

At least Carmina is somewhat close to Connie. Henrietta and Ray, on the other hand are not even close.
