Today's trip to the local money pit here in SE Michigan was awesome- truly a day of mojo pulls. Wish every time could be this thrilling but I guess that would get boring :P. I started off the day with some non-hockey mojo. My shop got in the new Donruss Elite football product and the price was reasonable so I decided to take my shot at Bush, Young, Leinart et al. Those guys weren't in the box but in the last pack after having gotten just a lone Carson Palmer jersey card up to that point, I had a pull which would be good by any collector's standards but especially mine since it involved a local legend. It was a redemption (boo! however Donruss is pretty fast from past experience) for a Passing the Torch dual autograph card of Kevin Jones and Barry Sanders numbered to just 49! I was thrilled as you can't have too many Barry autos- an unreal player who retired way too soon.

I picked up the one box of ICE that was there and once again through the first 18 packs it was rather pedestrian with 5 Level 4 RC's, a rainbow parallel /100 of Friesen and jersey cards of Jokinen and Shanahan. Pack 19 had the guy who everyone would be happy to pull right now- Signature Swatches Cam Ward auto jersey :D

I needed to leave to work at that point but I took along a box of Beehive with me to open later and I just finished opening it a few minutes ago. I've been very hot with the product as of late as my last 3 boxes have had large size and small size autos in each including 5x7 autos of Bossy, Tony Esposito and Marcel Dionne and small size autos of Nastiuk, Clowe, and Parise. I wish that I would have been able to open this particular box in the store so that its awesomeness could have been witnessed by the store owner ;)

There is this guy who goes to the local show by the name of Ed who has told me that he always has mojo from Beehive when he sets aside the inner packs to open after all of the outer packs have been opened and I've watched him pull great cards so I decided to imitate him and do the same. Through 14 of the big cards I hadn't hit an auto so I figured my streak was over. I figured wrong because in the last pack out came the guy who everyone wants- Sid the Kid!!!!
That would have made the box right there but I still had the inner packs to open and once again was riding a 3 box streak of small autos as well. Sure enough pack #2 of the inner packs yielded.......Alexander the Great! :D :D
I could not believe that both of these guys came out in the same box but I promise its true. The box only had two regular rookies, Dion Phaneuf and Jim Howard and it had three jersey cards- Nash, Murray and Tkachunk. I still haven't come down since opening this.

I also have to give a shout out to several board members for some recent trades, Nick, Dan Mercer, Aaron Lawbick, and Lionel thanks so much for your recent mail.

Finally, got a bubble mailer from UD containing a Mike Modano Trilogy Ice Scripts auto that I redeemed right when the product came out.

Here are some scans for your enjoyment, thanks for the long read, Dave

Awesome breaks! What cardshop in SE Michigan do you buy from? I'm in SE Mich. too, and I'd like to find a good shop. Thanks!

Honestly, you must be the luckiest man around, Dave!
*starts rubbing packs of cards near Dave's post for luck* :D

The cards were great and I was lucky to pull those guys but by far the best news of the day came when I found out that my Mom's colonoscopy which had us all very worried, came back 100% clean. The pulls were just gravy :)

Thanks for the comments they are much appreciated!
