Verified Trader,
Okay, I'm going to try to explain this as best I can so hang with me.
I got the idea from a Star Wars virtual trading card game. Essentially, there was a trade shop with assigned values. The caveat here is that the shop has to accept any trade so long as the values add up in 10 cards or less.
So, let's say the shop had a Boba Fett that the guides had put at 70. The shop would take a premium since it HAS to accept deals, so the shop would offer it at 80. That would mean that if I had 10 cards of a value of 8, I could trade for that 80.
There are rules in effect to prevent railroading the shop, too. Limits on the number of specific cards so as to not flood the shop inventory with nothing but those cards.
So in my head, it would work as such. Values would be assigned based on the type of card (2 for an insert, 3 for a jersey, 4 for an auto, etc.) Then, there would be multipliers based on rookie and player type.
So let's say you've got an auto of Sidney Crosby and the multiplier is 50 (I'm just making up values here), you'd have 200 points for a Crosby auto. If you had 10 cards that added up to 200, you could trade for that Crosby.
the user would also cover the shipping costs as I feel like that could add up super quickly.
What do you guys think? This seems like it could be a way to really get trading going.
