What does everyone do with their base cards? I have boxes of them but have no idea what I can do with them to clear up some space. Any ideas? Does anybody actually keep them?

Give them out at Halloween in team bags.

Donate to children’s hospital.

If you have a bidding battles sight in your community, which is normally set up under Facebook, you could put together a box of 400 and see you might sell them for $20. Works out to 5 cents a card. I normally put in some rookies, inserts and star cards as well. Most times parents buy them for their kids.

If you are able to have a yard sale. Do up boxes of 100 or 200 and sell them for $5 or $10 kids love them.

If your neighbourhood has a Buy Nothing group, offer them up there. I've done lots of probably 200 base cards apiece and have given away close to a dozen of them. The stories I hear from people interested are always amazing - kids wanting cards to collect, gathers getting back into the hobby etc.

For those not familiar, the Buy Nothing Project is a hyperlocal 'gifting' movement to reduce waste and strengthen neighbourhoods by creating interactions of giving items you'd otherwise part with to people in your community. It's been fantastic for our family and the hundreds around us.

I did this many years ago. I filled 400 count boxes with commons, and 1-2 "better" cards ( inserts or minor RC, worth a buck or 2 themselves) in sleeves on top inside of each box. I did a deal like $5.00 each, 3 for $10, 5 for $15.

A few hours after I opened, I had a couple kids ride up, one wearing a backpack. I figured they planned to pool their money to buy a few boxes. Boys walk up, open the backpack, .......

......and pull out a Beckett Guide.

They bought a few. As said before as well, you will get adults buying for the kid/grandkid.
