Identifying Champs Parallels - Help please

Hi everyone,

Need some help...I have a Steve Mason 08-09 Champs Auto that I thought was the "purple back" version listed on ebay.

But an ebayer is telling me that it is the "red back". I do not have a red back from that year to compare. It does not look red to me.

I have a "red back" from 09-10 listed as well and that clearly is red to me. Were the 08-09 "red backs" maybe not so red?

Any help in clarifiction would be greatly appreciated.

Yours looks just as purple as this Stamkos that was listed:

use all that JVR money and get a better scanner

There are purple and red back signatures from last year. If you look at this card it looks very purple in the picture.

It could just be the persons scanner that is making it look more red, but this Crosby red back looks almost the same in the scan of the back.

Sorry I couldn't be a lot of help, all I could find.

you probably have a purple. the reds are easily darker and the shade on your card is simply too light. to be definite, just grab any red parallel from 08-09 to compare. i don't have a purple lundqvist yet but here are the others lined up side by side.


Front // Black // Brown // Red // Blue

It looks like UD's verision of red was different between those 2 years. I appreciate the help. The Mason I have must be the redish purplish parallel instead of just the red or the purple.

OH NO. now it looks even more confusing to me Kevin. I pulled down the auction because I really have no idea now. It really does not look purple or red (and def not red compared to 09-10) - but somewhere between the two.

ah...okay...i am convinced that it is more "rust" colored. well, until someone confuses me again. LOL.

I've got the Stamkos purple back (I hope) and find it difficult to tell the coloring because it's not a true purple but rather some shade of it. I'm looking for the other color versions and once found, I'll get to compare them and hopefully after that it'll all make sense. Until then, I share your confusion and wish that they'd made the differences more obvious.
