I have gotten lots and lots of cards from the USA and have never had an issue before. Never had to pay a cent out of pocket when going to the post office.

There are ways to recover the fees paid (if it was to CCRA) but without any hard info it's a little difficult to start. Do you have a scan of the package with all the shipping labels etc? If so you can fire me a PM and I can suggest where to start based on that.
