Indy Crystal Skull Sketch Card

Those horrible hockey guys don't want to see this:devil:. I open a few packs of everything I can get my hands on and have been hoping to get a sketch card for a while. It says 1/1 on the back but I'm not sure if this is rare or if they are all one of ones? Oh well I like it!

I think alot of those are 1/1 but the real rarity is based on the artist, different artist sketched different amounts and are inserted at different rates. I think that is the way it works.

That's pretty much it. All the cards are hand-drawn (duh), and are considered 1/1s. Some artists like to draw the same thing more than once (the monkey in Indy Heritage, Battledroids in some of the SW releases, etc) but they are still viewed as 1/1s.

Different artists submit different numbers, so what Scott said is absolutely correct. I just checked the Topps site, and while they don't have it yet, they will eventually have a list of the artists and probably the numbers of cards as well.

Other factors affecting relative value: is it pencil only or color; the quality (obviously); the popularity of the character; and so on.

Though I have to admit, not having seen the movie and not wanting to know too much about it before I see it in theaters, I'm not sure who that character is. However, it's a great pull from just a few packs!

You can always try running eBay searches. Something like "(indy,indiana) skull sketch*" and take a look. Your particular artist is Uko Smith, if that helps any.

Uko usually does a high amount of sketch cards BUT with him you get great stuff everytime. There are times he's done a few repeats but they arent melting monkey or helmet head quality, always something nice.
