I was reading on the internet that fake patches often have threads sticking out. I have pulled two awsome patch cards with lose threads. So WT#?? I bought the packs at a reputable dealer. I know they are real. Again the website said if the patch doesn't look like the current jersey its fake. Again WT#?? I pulled this one two months ago:

The site also said if the patch is refered to as a jersey then its fake as well.
Im not sure what to think? Does anyone have a fake patches 101 site?

I really wanted a auto patch set of my fav players but the fakes have changed that. So i settled with an auto set. The only thing I know is that if it looks too good to be true it probably is.
Lmk guys, i need info...oh and why is kenny still learking around and not in prison for fraud? The guy sounds like a loser and a criminal.

Some advice
-know your player/team.

-if it is way too fancy, it might not be real, right? faking is the art of making drab into $ by replacing the drab with fab.

-build your collect with quantity, then upgrade it with quality. Plenty of collectors here have or are doing this. It saves a little upfront costs since the "drab" single colored swatch cards are cheaper. (Who would fake a single color?)

-the older jersey cards are used when the manufacturer has that in stock (Thornton on SJ card w/Boston jersey for 3 years?) They will be consistent throughout the set with that player & look for other examples, sold or in other's collections.

Sorry to hear that fakes have ruined your quest for a PC.

Thanks man, that's good advice. If it doesn't look real, it may be fake. I was planning for 3-4 color patch/autos of my fav players. lol. I really liked the Limited Logos from the cup but Im now very happy with my current collection. I know they are 100% real.
