Inscriptions in 2008-09 The Cup

I pulled this card from a sealed case as posted in my break in the Show and Tell section. Hopefully no one here thinks that I added the inscription myself like they do on another forum. I believe that Upper Deck announced on their Facebook page that some of the Penguins added Stanley Cup Champion inscriptions on a small number of their cards in The Cup. Has anyone else pulled or seen another Gogiloski Rookie with an inscription like this? What about for other Penguins? Any info on how many of them are out there would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think Fleury added the same inscription to a couple of his cards. And I've seen a few Brodeur Emblems of Endorsement with a "552 Wins" inscription.

I've seen another one with a similar inscription, I think it was Goligoski. I believe it was a member here who posted it.

He did? I know he verified the Fleury but I never heard of the Goligoski being mentioned.

That Goligoski looks legit without needing to be verified. The signature is too far to the right to be signed without the inscription.

I can't see anybody faking an inscription on a Goligoski card to squeeze a few more bucks out of it

I remember gomaz confirming this, might have been on another site though.

The EBAY auction referred to is actually for my card - I found the reference to it on the other site. The guy asking about it said he had been following Goligoski cards since release and this was the first one he had seen with an inscription.

Either way, it's been confirmed by UD and by gomaz as being legit...those are some awesome cards to have.

I was going to comment on the same. You're right, you put the " ' " in place to indicate contraction or possession - and definitely not plurality!

Definitely '09.

Also, who thinks it's funny that the signatures postdate the season the card is intended for?

i think i have noticed some Steve Mason "2009 Calder Trophy" on some as well.


and to what pathshot wrote, i found it funny on the only cup card i have, they talked about his full 08/09 year.....not just "_________ recorded an assist in his NHL debut, or ____________ scored his first goal on 10/21/08"
