Irving Ultimate Collection Patch Question

Was browsing for new flames cards in the new release of ultimate and came across this card. Im not saying its fake because the seller is reputable and i have bought from him many times. So im assuming this is a goof by upperdeck.

Obviously Irving was a rookie this year, and the flames did not have the horse logo on their uniforms since 2006 if i am not mistaken. Maybe the inserted a kiprusoff patch in this card? Who Knows.....

If its not game used , photoshoot/event/whatever they could have put an old jersey or upgrade a new one full of patch and lettering to feed people who want to pull sick patch and no all white Cup rookies.

They way Panini and UD are pumping patch latelly i wouldnt be suprize if in 3 years pulling a sick patch like this is gonna be as common as pulling a Mathias Ud game jersey

Irving was drafted in 2006, and to my knowledge, most of these photoshoot jerseys are from their drafts from their respective years.

Almost all rookie year jersey cards from UD use "photoshoot jerseys" from the draft, rookie photoshoot, etc...

Few exceptions being Crosby and Ovie from the Cup in 06

UD is using old patches from the rookie photoshoots in both their Hockey and Football stuff.

the RNH/Oilers rookies have patches from the old navy/red-orange uniforms

in their football stuff they use the old 49ers jerseys which they changed to the more retro look in 2009

They're legit, he was drafted, did phitoshoots and played some Orr-season games while wearing the old jersey's. I can't wait to pick one up myself!

The product literally came out yesterday. Doubt the guy busted cases of the stuff, re-patched the one card and listed it for sale among other Ultimate cards within a matter of hours.

Remember, patch fakers don't tend to bust boxes/cases. They buy individual cards with ugly patches for cheap and repatch them

A lot of his cards he has up for sale are from a person who busts case after case.

But to clarify to everyone, the o.p. did say he trusts the seller as he has made purchases off of him in the past. He was wondering if it was a error on UD part. He wasn't wondering if it was faked.

Upper Deck just wants to get rid of old jerseys.

They used a pre-edge jersey for Stephane DaCosta, he signed in 2011 as a college free agent and never would have came in contact with that jersey.
