Is Jamie Benn Going To Be The 14-15 Art Ross Winner???

Still time left in both the Pens game, Islanders game, and Stars game, but with Crosby having no points thus far, and Benn has both Dallas goals, he leads Crosby by 1 point, and Tavares has one goal, and is tied for the lead with Benn. :whatthehell:

How many of us picked Jamie Benn as this year's points leader, or Tavares for that matter???

Tavares has a point and that ties them now doesn't it. They started the day with JT and Sid one above of Benn.

My bad, I knew that, but somehow mixed up Benn, and Tavares stats when I typed the post. So as of right now, Benn, and Tavares are tied, one ahead of Crosby. Still time left. Fixing first post now.

What a finish! Benn has about half a period to get a point to tie, or two to win. Score is 2-1 Dallas, so maybe an empty net hat trick to co-share the title? That would be awesome.

Does this just put him on fast track to HHOF. I think it helped Marty and the sedins stamp their ticket

Have the twins really stamped their ticket?

Look, I'm a Canuck fan, and have been fortunate enough to watch the twins do some incredible things, but I'm not 'sold' on them being HHOF players.

Yes, it's almost guaranteed they'll both get 1,000 points. They've got an Art Ross each, a Hart for Henrik, a Lindsay for Daniel.

Henrik has two NHL First All Star team selections, Daniel has a First All Star Team and a Second All Star team selection. Note this is the NHL All Star team, not some lame game in the middle of the season where fans pick the top 6 players and is meaningless.

All that, and I'm still not convinced they are HHOF material.

Then again, when I look at some of the players that are in, I shake my head and then say 'The twins are a lock.'

Congrats mr Benn, still has ALOT to do in his career for the stamp but helps alot. He could be first Art Ross in 20 years not to make it.

I look at hardware first, Sedins got some important ones, then you look at stats over a career, 1000 points is benchmark, then you look at a players international play and all star performance which they have and finally you look at the cups which they have none but in an era of having a 1/30 chance of getting one its not a indication of the player. Grets never got one after leaving stacked oilers, Bourque may have not gotten one with the avs, would that have effected his spot as top 5 defenseman of all time.

I'm sure someone at the NHL head office is rewatching all Islander and Penguins games to find JT or Crosby some extra points... not sure how marketable Jamie Benn will be...

Good for him though - it's nice to have it mixed up every once a while - see some different names in there.
