He is a fan favorite and one of my favorites as well, but he will never garnish the attention he deserves. I see Brian Rolston, with more offensive upside. The hobby does not appreciate 2 way players for some reason, the best players in the game dont stand up to a guy that scores oodles of goals because he doesnt pass.
Not to mention he has a few others, kane toews and havlat to name a few, that have more or just as much potential, and are practically household names in hockeydom.
And as per the previous post, he is not "as good" as his linemates, he is better in terms of hockey knowledge and all around play. His SH goals certainly tell a different story, because if thats the case, a lack of linemates helps him. It is also interesting to see how many big goals he scores for the team, GW or GT, or goals to cap off a big emotion burst (killing off a penalty then scoring to tie it). He is the less known mike richards or patrice bergeron of the west in my eyes. I say that based on their play, not on potential.
