Is this patch legit?

Looks like a Reebok logo but did they have those back in 05/06?

This card pops up all the time for sale... so on that point alone I would say it's fake. I am 99% sure there have been threads on this exact card here but can't remember if it was determined to be a fake or not.

They did have those logos back in 05-06 I beleive, yes. I don't know where the red RBK logo would have been from though. Not sure if it's fake though.

You can see the RBK logo on the back of his neck on the photo from the card itself. Did the Caps use a red jersey in 2005-06?

I can't find it, but I remember reading about this exact card a while back. I cannot remember if the patch is a fake or if UD used some other type of memorabilia and forgot to change the wording on the back. Regardless, the patch is 100 percent NOT game worn (as it says on the back of the card), as it's the wrong color and wrong material to be from a game worn Caps jersey from 2005-06.

If it was a different jersey altogether, it’s a shame that UD wouldn’t correct this mistake back in 2006, seeing as how it’s Ovechkin in their new high-end product.

not that it helps but card with serial number #49 is all black so that they would use something like that as last card in production isnt very likely, and looking at worthpoint no other cards had that similar patch so i think its a fake one sadly..

I don't think the Capitals had a red Reebok logo on their red schemed jerseys (which weren't worn until 2007).

If UD could ever release a complete scan of all the cards in a particular set that would be bonus. I remember in 15-16 The Cup, I came across a picture of all 99 Panarin The Cup rookies.

Jeremy (Gomaz) actually went to Upper Deck one year to take photos of The Cup himself actually. That was pretty cool.


I like what Upper Deck did in 15-16 (probably only due to it being McDavid's Rookie year), and I hope they would do it again.

I know this exact card has been talked about before, just cannot find it anywhere. But I know it's not a legit game used patch like it says. It literally cannot be.
