The New York Islanders have signed veteran winger Chris Simon to a $1-million US, one-year deal.

NOt a bad pick up. some grit that can play.

Although nothing spectacular, The Isles have added a few solid D Men in Witt and Poti and some vets with character in Sillinger and Simon. Add this to the youth corp that ended up the season and they must improve substantially.

Maybe they signed him so he can punch Yashin in the chops on a consistent basis. Maybe then Yashin will play like everyone knows he can.
