ITG Patch Fake (BTP card)

Yeah I think that is a fake, and a very poorly done one as well.

But, I would venture to say a jersey card was faked because the ITG patch cards are too thin and the top clearly warps around the patches.

You can be sure that this will be fully investigate. If the patch is FAKE, In The Game will do everything we can legally.

This is serious and if other manufacturers choose to ignore these issues, they are not serving their customers properly.

Slam!

I refuse to buy any nice patch cards on ebay for this exact reason. Other companies refuse to help the consumer out so I'm not buying their crap anymore. Auto rookies are the only way to go now.

Thats why i love ITG !!!

Keep up the good work Brian. Thanks alot

Collectors have to understand that ITG tries to create valuable patches in all of our patch cards.

We cannot get involved in checking on every patch that collectors might think is fake.

However, as I mentioned in my last post, do not take tampering with our cards lightly.

We have reached out to the eBay seller to discuss that matter with us as a courtesy. If they do not reply, we will deal with the matter directly with eBay.

We have done our research and we believe that the card has been altered.

It would be nice to see ITG go after them, but really, what can they do? Is it any different then me changing the sound system in my car? It isn't right to fake a patch but do they have any legal action?

**In no way to I agree with patch faking**

Although stopping this problem might be difficult, I disagree with James.

The seller is selling an ITG trading card that is altered and should advertise it as such. By saying it is our card unaltered, he is committing FRAUD.

Again, it might be difficult to stop but the first thing a manufacturer has to do is take the matter seriously and try to do something about it. Turning a "blind eye" to situations like this merely promotes more people to try and do it in the future.

Just my opinion.

1 reason why ITG is great

Thanks Dr. P, for trying to make sure things are okay with this item and other ITG products...

Thanks Dr. Price for looking into this and helping the community deal with these forgers.

Also received my redemptions today for hshs and flat out amazed, thank you again

Brian,

Would it not be easier to go after the fakers via trade infringement???
Fraud is hard to prove & easier to evade in the business of buying and selling cards.
The sellers normally just say that they picked it up as part of a 'collection' & pull the auction - only to dispose of it via another method.

Since your card designs are trademarked - if you went after them for infringement, you do not have to prove fakery..... only that the original design has been altered . You are then able to have any such altered designs destroyed.

What's the world coming to when the two-plus colour swatches that BTP so routinely offers aren't enough?

The seller snookers himself by posting a photo of the back of the card, as it clearly states that a piece of game-used jersey is included... there's just no way that's legit.

Very interested to see what happens when the manufacturer gets involved!

Best of luck trying to stop this seller and detering him in the future too. Its a shame collectors have to be concerned about all of these fake swatches. It hurts every aspect of the hobby/industry. At the very least anything that can be done to scare these forgers and hastle them should be done.

I have built the entire 07/08 BTP Mask Game Used set and have never seen a swatch like the one in the listing.

I'll be intrigued to see what comes of this. It'd be nice if SOMEONE could hold the forgers' feet to the fire. As I understand one aspect of the problem though, the real hurdle comes from getting eBay to cooperate by acting appropriately when the listings surface.

Just another reason where Dr. Price shows he "gets it".

Thanks for caring about the hobby Dr. Price!
