ITG Superlative cards without the slab

Same deal as the old topps finest etc cards, peeled = not in original condition. I like my cards to be the same as they were when they came out of the pack.

I prefer the stickered top loader as well, but I have had no problem removing cards from these top loaders in order to get them slabbed. Once slabbed, I have seen no discount in value.

On the high end cards, I haven't seen much of a price difference. I have bought a few where the seller did not disclose that the cards weren't in the orinal sealed top holder, but, they are 1/1's so IMO it wouldn't really affect the price.

I don't care for the product in any event. But I agree with the general comment that if it is not in its original packaging, a significant discount is appropriate.

I prefer to buy them with the seal intact. I have bought two with the seal broken, although that was not disclosed to me until later. If I had known I may have asked for a discount, but not a very big one since I will ultimately break the cards out myself for scanning and then put them into a one touch. I do however keep the toploaders they come in in case I decide to move them later on down the road.

One more thing I want to add, is a paraphrased quote from Dr. Price. He was asked in one of the many Superlative threads about the toploaders and the seal and stated that it was designed to keep the cards in the best possible condition inside the box and that ITG's customer service obligations would end when the seal was broken and the card removed. The toploaders were not meant to serve the same purpose as the Ultimate Slabs.

For me personally, I wouldn't and don't care. The card itself is what's important to me, whether it's slabbed, in a toploader, or hard plastic case, as long as it's safe.

But w/ that being said, you know how most people in this hobby are: Always looking for the lowest possible price (which is understandable). Unfortunately, you might lose a few bucks on these.

The High end stuff keep their value the lower end lose some value.

Too many people still think that these ITG top loader are like the ITG UM slab. Cards were in top loader to protect from being damaged. To be honest, they are very much nicer in a one touch than these top loader. But yeah...alot of people will try to get a discount if they are not in the original top loader.

I have one that is really full of scratches and look awful but i havent yet bothered to take it out, i cant believe people say that a discount is to be expected if they are taken out,, thats just insane its not like people fake patch cards on itg cards exactly to my knowledge.

i have to admit i like the cards in the superlative top loaders, most of mine are in the original packaging and i have one that isn't, and it kinda bugs me since it's not the same as the rest, just my thoughts, not sure if a discount is expected though

I tried to sell a UM 03-04 card who has same "slab" as ITG's Superlative series and the buyers wasn't willing to pay same price as a slabbed cards...

I also prefer to buying there cards with seals intact with execption of Superlative EXPO cards, but it's up to all to decide this matter in its own way.

The first Superlative the stickers where solid but i remember Superlative 2 the stickers where almost all pelled off straight from the box or werent as solid.

Superlative 2 stickers were perforated.i opened 12 books and have about 20 cards that have popped open stickers direct from the box.not that it matters though as i would never sell them.they are jewels of my collection.

I agree with the last few comments.

Had the same as the stickers were popped anyway on the boxes I broke. Don't see any big deal with sticker popped or a superlative card in another topload... It's the card that is of importance. There should be no difference in value although some would be quick to point it out to discount the card itself ?

Some might say that given enough time (years) the open end of the toploaders would provide less protection than if they were taken out and put in one touches. For all high end superlatives I prefer the extra protection of a sealed holder.
