As of today Sellers on E-Bay may not leave neutral or negs for buyers, as it cause buyers who get negged to purchase less on E-Bay:crazy:{Thats a quote right from the site}

Not very happy about the negative feedback restrictions. It will be interesting to see the ramifications over the next couple of weeks.

The other thing I noticed is that feedback ratings took a big jump because they are allowing repeat customer feedback to count now.

How does leaving NO feedback serve you?
 
As primarily a buyer for my PC, this change doesn't really affect me, but I can see your complaints. I was pretty stoked to see my feedback jump 250 points though :D.
 
if ebay was smart, they'd implement a system where unpaid item strikes filed against buyers, paypal chargebacks filed by buyers, and paypal chargebacks filed against sellers show automatically show as a separte part of the feedback ratings (sort of like bid retractions) that way no one can be held hostage for negative feedback. i think that would alleviate the problem on both the sellers and buyers sides and leave the deadbeats exposed.

Unfortunately EBAY will not take much of a hit on this. Sports cards are a very small part of their overall business, there is some volume there, but it's just barely a blip on their radar.

When they first announced the new rules months ago, I said the sports card hobby would take a huge hit, and some people thought I was crazy. The people who rip and flip and don't protect themselves, are going to take it in the shorts big time. More and more card people are going to stop selling on EBAY altogether unless they pull a mega card, and the trickle down affect will be considerable. It will be interesting to see what happens to card values in the next few years.
 
I think it's going to interesting to see how many buyers start leaving negative feedback for the sellers who refuse to leave feedback first, or don't leave feedback at all.

I understand both sides of the argument, buyer and seller, but now since sellers cannot leave a negative, they have no reason to not leave feedback once they receive payment.
 
Rating - ebay

Since this morning, my feedback has increased from 337 to 420 and I now have a 100% rating as opposed to the 99.7% with ONE negative.
What's going on:confused:

The % rating is based on your last 12 months

The increase is because in the old way if someone bought items from you more than once it would only count as 1 feedback, now if they buy from you multiple times each transaction counts as one.

Old buy from you 1 time a week for a year == 52 transactions 1 feedback
now buy from you 1 time a week for a year == 52 transactions 52 feedback...

I'll tell u one thing.. I will leave a neg feedback disguised as a + feedback !

This rule really screws sellers as well:

May I still use online dispute services like SquareTrade to have negative Feedback removed?

eBay will no longer accept Feedback removal requests from SquareTrade or NetNeutrals, even when both buyers and sellers agree to have the Feedback removed.

So now, a seller cannot leave neutral or negative, and if he receives an unjust negative from the buyer, he cannot even contest it? Wow, EBAY is going to be an even bigger swimming pool of fun for the scammers and thieves. :whatthehell:
 
Since I mainly buy on eBay, This isn't going to have much impact on me. However, I can see it already.

I think sellers are going to be shafted by buyers who feel the need to leave a negative for every little flaw in the transaction.

However, As a buyer, This is great. No more sellers holding feedback hostage, Giving a revenge negative, When you paid right away, ETC.

PS: Everyone says that their feedback jumped...I have 222 transactions (100% positive), And my feedback is still at 178...What's going on?

Totally agree, buyers will feel they have "protection" now

I'm gonna admit, since I do buy on ebay also, that if an item takes longer than expected, or the card has a slight white mark not on the scan, or any other small detail not worth leaving a neg for, I will leave a negative now since I know I won't get one back.
