Alright, I'm sure you all know that the Expo is this weekend. This is going to be my frist one, me and my dad are going together. I was just wondering if you guys had any tips or suggestions on anything. Thanks!

Edit: I will be bringing my Carey Price FW 221/999. I'm gonna try to trade it for something of the same value. If anyone on here is going to be at the show and needs it. Let me know.

Big tip for me lookng back: Don't splurge on everything. Last year walked in with 70 bucks (bad I know) and spent all of it before noon. Walk around look at the booths, and chat it up wth some vendors. Hope this helps, and I hope to see you there

Nick

It's my first time going too. Why is 70 bad? Too much? too little? I plan on getting a nice Kostitsyn and then end my spending.... haha that's a lie. I have the gambling gene. I'll probably end up buying 05-06 boxes at the booths of HI members.

70 is very much on the low side for most people, if what you're looking for isn't too pricey then it's fine but it's twice a year, might as well take enough incase you find somehting huge.

Lousyhero, I'm bringing a couple higher end Richards cards, if you are interested we could meet up if you dont see much else.

Taking some cards to sell or trade, couple Schenns(ITG, likely wont move fast), a couple Richards, Toews and Price FW's and an Yzerman auto plus around 600 cash, can't wait.

Aren't there people who take debit or credit? limited but still a few? and aren't there atms on site or do the charge ridiculous fees?

Cash is king. Very few take credit, nobody I know has debit. There are ATMs on site, but the one in the Hall usually gets cleared out fairly quick. So, bring cash with you.

Good to know. Can people hold spots for people in the wrapper redemption line? My friends and I want to maximize our time there, so can one person go off browsing while the other holds a spot, or no? I don't know how long one waits in line but I will be arriving around 5 so I would imagine I would be near the back of the line.

I don't think anyone would really do much if someone did hold your spot but I'm pretty sure it is frowned upon unless it's more like 1 or 2 minutes, if he waits in like for like a half hour and then you show up I don't think people would take kindly to it.

Yup thats is it,if you want the redemption you gotta wait. I'm unsure of the times if someone would enlighten me.Also 70 is low because you really would be looking at just singles or maybe a chepo box.

So are dealers open to trading or not really? I know they are there to make money but I know some dealers are also collectors.

- Bring lots and lots of money (if you can)... I spent $100 bucks within 1 second of even stepping foot in the freaken place last time (entrance, HI t-shirt, donation, etc.). No joke. It can be a very expensive weekend.

- Yes (most) dealers are open to trading.

- Wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking back and forth.

- Check out as many dealers as you can. It's fun, and you never know what you will find. Don't spend your wad in one place.

- Introduce yourself! If your new, chances are most people don't know who are... its fun meeting HIers.

- I love the peperroni sticks you can get there. If your new, you'll see what I mean....

- Avoid tables 122-124 if you don't want to wet yourself infront of everyone ;)

Just in the nick of time, I'm off of crutches and hobbling around with a walking cast. Looking forward to seeing y'all at the HI booth and at Q-mart.
