Anyone else hearing about this documentary recently? Its advertised as a movie about baseball cards but it is just as easily a retrospective of the hobby as a whole in the 90s. Plus, its told from the unique perspective of the family of a prominent hobby store owner up to the bubble burst.

Sounds like it's doing the Film Festivals now, then public consumption will be worked out later.

Trailer for Jack of all Trades
Summary of the movie.

Many HI collectors will recognize some of the people and scenes from the trailer. Interviews and footage were filmed at the Expo.

Thanks for posting this! I watched the trailer. I'd be interested in seeing the documentary when it comes out for sure. The early 90's card boom - brings us all back. Should be interesting to hear how this particular story unfolds.

Wow! Looks great! I was one of those kids from 1987-92 trading no names for all the big name rc's so I would be RICH!!! LOL! Didn't work out to well...

This is excellent. I used to go to Sluggers as a kid (in the Yonge ans Steeles area) and knew Jack briefly before Karlos took over. As a kid, I never knew what happened to him...I guess I'm about to find out.

Me too, same location. I think there was a TRU in the same strip mall? I also remember a young teenaged looking girl working there. Must have been related to Karlos? Think her name was Sabrina, possibly? Anyways, i spend a crapload of cash there over the years. Looking forward to seeing this film.

Did you ever eat at the char broil place up the street? Think it was called Golden Star? I wonder if it's still there? Great burgers, and fries, and really decent prices.

@Leafsfan1967 Golden Star is still there are looks like it hasn't changed since those days.

Would really like to see this film. Couldn't fins any release information though.

Thanks, I will have to check it out when I'm down there. I thought I had heard it closed down a couple years ago,or something? Maybe it was just about the old guy retired? I know I heard something, lol! :yess:

Golden Star is 100% still there, I think that the "old guy" might have passed away.

This looks awesome!
