Here's some stuff I've bought in the last six weeks, going from least rare to rarest:

A Dubois sandwich on Hughes bread

My timing on the two Hughes was very good, picking them up just before he doubled in value. My timing on Dubois was not as good, buying him when speculation peaked of him going to Montreal, where he would have doubled in value. But he went to Winnipeg instead, so he'll have to double in value the old fashioned way - by producing.

No idea how many YGs there are, but safe to say tens of thousands?

Appetizer sampler

Let's start with Beliveau. He is unnumbered, but I'd guess 558 or less as that would be in theme with the 2001-02 Heritage set. Not a huge fan of the seat set, but the price was fair.

That's kind of the theme here. Do I need an Eric Nystrom Cup RC serialed to 199? No. But I didn't have one and it cost $7 or so, so yes! And he had a pretty good career for himself. Better than half of the '05-06 class anyway.

And two more Kessels for my pile, both serial'd to 100, both coming via the new eBay white envelope program. Cheap to ship, both cards safe. Seems like a good option for low end cards.

Ekblad Entree

Ok, so two of these Ekblads have a higher print run than the Kessels, but two are less, so this is where they fall. I'm a big fan of Ekblad. He was a fantasy team mainstay until I stopped playing. I wanted these cards in 2015, but I knew to bide my time as he'd inevitably cool off. Got all 4 for $15.

We have his regular Metal. Print run? Don't know. There's the Skybox numbered to 299. A very nice Flair Ice to 99, and the card I was most interested in was the Red Metal, which is 1 of 65.

I bought this moments after losing out on a Red Metal Pastrnak, which sold for considerably more than $15. This was my consolation prize.

(I just noticed you can see the reflection of the Devils logo on the Ekblad red. That's because I was wearing a Devils jersey when I took the photo.)

Cup(s) of Nash

I swore I already owned the Enshrinement, but if it's in my house, I can't find it. So now I have another one. (Or my first one.) The '05-06 Patch is numbered to just 40 instead of 75, so a little harder to get. The signature's already faded a bit though and the patch is meh. But again, not too pricey either.

Finally on to a money card:

Sorry, the cat has taken an interest. Let's try to get closer:

Metal Pasta en Bleu

I can't seem to take a picture of this card that does it justice, but it really sparkles when you adjust it in the light. I picked up both the regular (unknown print run) and the blue (out of 25) from the same seller, but in separate transactions. I bought the Metal first and really liked it. The Blue was pricy, I'm not gonna lie, but I felt very good about the purchase. And when the red sold for 2/3rds the price of the blue (despite print run of 65 versus 25), I felt vindicated. I picked up the Blue before Pasta returned to action. Then he went out and scored 5 goals in his first 3 games. He's now at 9 in 9. Those 7 missed games may cost him a shot at the Richard, especially with Matthews running amuck, but he can give it a run.

And finally...the rarest of the rare...

:hungry:

All right, it's probably not quite as rare, but I have no idea how many of these are autographed. This is Alex Daigle's Pinnacle pre-rookie. It was handed out at the '93 Entry Draft and the '93 National in Chicago. This auto came along with 10 unsigned copies, in the varying conditions one might expect to find if they were collected off the floor of the Colisee. At least 2 are in mint condition.

So yes, my Daigle flight of fancy has soared into 2021.

That is a great group of cards.

I am a huge fan of the PMG cards so I think they are my favorite in the bunch.

great additions, thanks for the wonderful show, Daigle was the next big thing at one point, I don't think I've ever seen those cards, thanks for sharing
