Don't think he'll find a job unless someone gets hurt - most teams are pretty set at DH now - at least the ones that some think it's a good fit. He was supposed to provide protection for Rios and Wells in the lineup - and that wasn't happening. Folks were pitching around Rios and Wells to go after Thomas, not a good sign. He can't hit a fastball on the outer half anymore either. So why play him when you have Matt Stairs, who is definitely getting the job done at the plate.
Yes, the Jays are on the hook for his salary - but the Jays can't afford not to get too far behind the Sox and the Yanks. With Rolen on the way within about 10 days, this should put the Jays back on track, or so one would hope. It's not exactly helping having Zaun hit like garbage right now either and Overbay is looking to get back in the groove after this past weekend.
