Well heres the story……
Back in 2010 or 2011, Jean Beliveau was stated to appear at the Bossa show in Vancouver. So I sent my mcfarlane base up to Dale to get it signed. Jean then started his health issues and cancelled. Dale said that he would be rescheduled sometime that year, so I elected to wait. Jean then was supposed to do a private signing later that year, and my item was supposed to be sent to get signed. I don’t know if that happened or not.
I then found one signed on HockeyInk for $60 and I snagged it, just to have one incase Jean didn’t make it, healthwise. But, the base didn’t have the HOF inscription that I collect, so I was always in hopes that my original would get signed.
1-2 years later, im going thru my mcfarlane box and found just the figure piece and decided to look for a signed base, and I found one, that was obtained at Expo and even had the ticket stub.Its an older auto, but it works for me. Only cost me $40, due to I made a deal with the buyer to not send my the figure piece, just the base. so I then sold the one I got from hockey ink.
Now, Jean was doing a private signing at Frozen Pond, so I sent up another base, since my mentality, is get him while you can. For some reason, all of my Canadiens, except for the one I mentioned above, are in the White uni’s. So I decided to send another base up to get signed. I got it today, and now my life is complete!
I still don’t know whatever happened to the one I sent up to Bossa, still have the money order receipt etc, but no worries. Its part my fault for letting it go this long. Im just happy I have finally gotten what I want for my collection. Thanks for reading and looking!
