Has anyone heard if he is facing any disciplinary action for his attempted chicken-wing elbow on Henrik the other night?

If not, it's kind of further evidence that it's the result, not the action, that Shanahan/NHL look at when deciding suspensions/fines.

And, more importantly, is Kadri okay after being the one that Lupul actually nailed?

I am more surprised that Lupul didn't get hurt on the play lol. Fantastic player but Geez that guy is made of glass.

You said it! It seems like every time he throws a hit or goes into the corner or steps onto the ice, Leafs Nation holds its collective breath that he won't stub his toe.

The NHL has proven time and time again that they could care less about intent. They would rather suspend someone for a hard play where something goes awry than for the true meatball making clear and intentional dangerous plays.

We have all seen it 100 times. Shift after shift guys chase each other into the end boards and there are real grey areas of hits. Guys bounce up or aren't hurt and there is no call but if you stay down for a second or two and all of the sudden boarding, roughing, checking from behind, charging, etc all come into play.

I get that this is an inexact science but there has to be a better way and there has to be more attention placed on instances where there is clear intent.

Should Lupul be suspended? Probably not. Should the NHLPA call him out and give him a $1000 douche fine - sure. Maybe thats what should take place. Instead of all of the onus on the NHL to make the fines, the NHLPA should step up and protect the greater good of the players and make a joke out of the whole thing. Fine guys for diving, yapping, glove washing, overall douchery and then donate all that money to mens health or something. No need to be scientific or anything - Lupul took a swipe, $500 in the douche jar - Kesler took a dive, douche jar - wanna wear a tinted visor, douche jar

I too love this! What a great idea. Let's start a list. Add in goalie dives because someone skated too close to them, faking someone hit you in the head. The list could be quite funny and raise millions.
