Verified Trader,
Drouin's problems were NOT short lived. He has been a head case since he refused to report to the Mooseheads when they drafted him.
Two teams, two refusals to play. No counting the sulking that he did when he got sent back to Jr. after being drafted that required the Bolts to send somebody to keep an eye on him in Halifax.
I looked into this a little. For Juniors, there were mitigating circumstances: his grade 11 exams and his parents. It's possible that this experience might have made him feel entitled to pull similar crap in Tampa Bay, but he was barely 16 when he was drafted by Halifax. Do you have more to add? I really didn't find much on this.
If he didn't re-emerge as a 20 goal scorer last year on a team he previously spurned, I'd probably write him off as a headcase as well. I'd like to believe he'll be fine in Montreal. Time will tell.
